Summary of Role :
Mainstream Renewable Power is looking to hire an Environmental Senior Consultant for project specific issues including the Ckhúri and Caman Projects in Calama and Valdivia respectively.. In permanent coordination with environmental and construction team, the role will be to manage the environmental contingence of specific projects in the construction and operation phase, considering the support teams and resources needed. The role requires an ongoing relationship with various external stakeholders including the CMN (Consejo de Monumentos Nacionales), SEA and communities, from the obtention of the construction permits and social license, the environmental monitoring of construction and the accountability to CMN and SMA (Superintendencia del medioambiente).
What you will do? [Key Responsibilities and Activities]
A key feature of this function will be the direct supervision of the environmental performance of the project considering:
Working with internal and extermn resources to build strategies to address particular issueswith development and construction projects associated with environmental and archaeological aspects.
Monitoring of construction from the environmental point of view, considering the restrictions and permits obtained.
Accountability to stakeholders and public agencies.
Coordination of activities with exrernal stakeholders CMN and SMA, according to the environmental procedures.
Coordination between construction team, legal consultants, technical consultans, archaeologist, and internal environmental team according to the needs of the project.
Reportability to Senior Management Team relating to the project performance.
What we require? [Key Skills, Knowledge and Experience]
Proved experience as manager and crisis management.
Environmental professional with proven experience on relationships with authorities and agencies, communities and consultants.
5+ years of experience on archaeological matters for projects on construction or operation in Chile (mining, energy or similar).
Proved knowledge on regulatory aspects of environment in Chile.
Fluent English.
