Dillon’s Communities & Environment technical group is looking for a Civil Engineer. You will have the opportunity to join a well established team of technical professionals with a history of business success. You will contribute to the team through the continued development of relationships with a diverse portfolio of new and established clients and deliver exceptional solutions on a wide range of projects.

Responsibilities
What your day will look like
Project Management & Design
- Manage civil engineering team activities and support project managers / technical staff in the delivery of multidisciplinary projects across the company.
- Develop technical expertise on a variety of municipal and land development infrastructure projects related to water supply, sewers, roads, site servicing and waste management.
- Lead and provide technical direction of functional design, detailed design and construction administration activities of multidisciplinary project teams.
Business Development
- Identify and develop of new business opportunities.
- Lead the maintenance of existing client relationships, including preparation of proposals and statement of qualification.
- Business travel to other Dillon offices upon request.
Learning & Development
- Contribute to the career development of more junior staff, including technical direction, training recommendations, coaching and mentoring.
- Contribute to Dillon’s corporate profile through active participation in professional associations and committees.
Qualifications
What you will need to succeed
- A degree in civil engineering.
- Licensed to practice as a professional engineer in the Province of Ontario, or eligible to be licensed within six months.
- Five years’ professional work experience in municipal / infrastructure engineering.
Experience
- Demonstrated success in the leadership of multidisciplinary project teams and business development.
- Experienced in the design of various municipal infrastructure including water supply systems, sewage systems, roadways, stormwater management works, underground and surface site servicing works, and/or waste management facilities.
- Experience with trenchless technologies and applications would be an asset.
- In depth knowledge of contract administration services and requirements.
- Expert knowledge of municipal servicing standards and environmental approvals requirements.
- Demonstrated skills in public and agency consultation.
- Strong proficiency in proposal and report writing, presentations, communications, organization and interpersonal skills.
