As LRQA is a fast-paced growth organization, we are looking for a self-starter who can hit the ground running. Working with leadership in-country and globally, you will be responsible for providing expert guidance and strategic advisory services to clients in China on sustainability practices and initiatives.
Leveraging your management consulting background, you will lead a team of consultants, manage client relationships, and deliver high-quality sustainability solutions that effectively grow LRQA Consulting business in China, building and implementing roadmaps to grow with existing customers, and cultivating new prospects.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the sustainability consulting practice in China, including managing a team of consultants and overseeing project delivery to ensure high-quality and timely services.
- Design and manage our service offerings in China based on different clients’ needs and their sustainability strategies.
- Provide expertise on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) issues, sustainability reporting, and disclosure frameworks, supporting clients in meeting regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Drive the planning and execution on stakeholder engagement and facilitate regional workshops and training sessions to build awareness, capacity, and engagement around sustainability topics.
- Stay up to date with emerging sustainability trends, regulations, and best practices, and guide the team to provide thought leadership and strategic insights to clients.
- Develop strong client relationships, act as a trusted advisor, and identify opportunities for expanding service offerings and generating new business.
- Strong entrepreneurial spirit and an excellent collaborator; Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including senior management, department heads, and project teams, to understand business challenges, identify consulting opportunities, and develop tailored strategies for clients and unlock the potential of new business models.
- Develop and coach team to ensure the best standards of performance, appropriate skillsets and strong succession plans are in place.
Qualifications:
- A master’s degree is required. Major in sustainability, environmental science, business, or a related field is preferred. Candidates with a bachelor’s degree can be considered if the other experience and skillset is exceptional.
- At least 10 years’ proven experience in management consulting, including developing and implementing business strategies and initiatives for clients, ideally from a top tier consulting firm and/or with a focus on sustainability.
- In-depth knowledge of sustainability frameworks, standards, and best practices, such as the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and various environmental certifications.
- Strong understanding of regional and international ESG regulations, policies, and trends, including ESG requirements.
- Demonstrated expertise in formulating and executing sustainability projects, driving strategic impact for clients.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collect, analyze, and interpret sustainability data and metrics.
- Strong stakeholder engagement, influencing and negotiation skills.
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple client engagements, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in both oral and written English and Mandarin, with the ability to engage and influence diverse audiences, including senior executives.
