Chief Engineer - Power Systems APAC

Local Unit & Position Description

DNV APAC Power System Planning is looking for a chief engineer to help drive the team's impact to the next level in the region. We are looking for an experienced, talented and driven individual with significant power system domain experience (>15 years) to lead technical development and excellence across the APAC region, with a particular focus on Australia.

This is an outstanding opportunity to play a leading role with a growing team (20+ power system engineers in the region, 100 globally) that is working at the cutting edge of power systems in Australia, South-East Asia and India.

This position is based in Melbourne, Victoria Australia.

Position Qualifications

• Masters in electrical engineering / power systems (PhD viewed favourably).
• 15+ years industry experience.
• Proficiency with large scale renewable connections, registration and commissioning according to the Australian National Electricity Rules.
• Proficiency with Python and power system analysis tools such as PSS®E, PSCAD, PowerFactory.
• Experience working with Transmission Network Service Providers across APAC and / or AEMO (Australia) is highly valued.
• Proven experience mentoring and developing electrical and power system engineers from graduate to a principal level.
• Great communication skills and demonstrated ability to build relationships with clients and internal staff.
• Experienced in executing power system consultancy projects.
• Fundamental knowledge of power electronics control systems and experience working within an OEM is considered an advantage.
• Positive attitude with a proven ability to foster good team culture.
