Chemical/Material Handling Technician I

Ambri, an energy startup commercializing an innovative battery technology first developed at MIT, is seeking an Chemical and Material Handling Technician. This position will work on the Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Team and report directly to the Senior Manager, while working alongside leading battery scientists and engineers.

Position Overview

To support commercial and R&D cell production through working with chemical products used inside of the battery.  This will require various operations to prepare raw material for eventual use.  The candidate will work with furnaces, cleaning equipment, pressure vessels and data entry of information.  The position is hands on and requires attention to detail in the safe handling of raw materials.

Responsibilities**:**

• Working with raw materials from inventory to final delivery to the battery.
• Weighing and recording values following established procedures.
• Loading and unloading materials from furnaces.
• Moving containers both manually and with lift assists including fork trucks.
• Working closely with Engineers to execute on experimental plans.
• Following standard operating procedures and safety protocols.
• Logging all essential information from daily tasks into appropriate databases.

Requirements**:**

• Hands on job requiring dexterity and ability to manipulate and maneuver parts of various sizes and weights.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Respirator use required for part of the work day.
• General comfort working in a laboratory or industrial work environment.
• Ability to be flexible in assignments from day to day.
• Skilled with hands and familiarity with tools.
• Computer experience including MS Office suite is a plus.
