Responsibilities

The Charge Nurse provides direct nursing care to all youth and oversees the daily functioning of the Nursing Department at the assigned campus.

Under the supervision of the Nurse Manager, some essential responsibilities include:

  • Supervise subordinate LPN staff.

  • Evaluate and counsel subordinate LPN staff.

  • Oversee the training of new employees to the Nursing Department.

  • Perform as a medical liaison with outside consultants and with treatment teams.

  • Compile and submit weekly and monthly reports to the Nurse Manager.

Qualifications

Requirements

Qualified applicants should have received a diploma from a accredited school of nursing or equivalent
Active nursing license with ability to practice in Tennessee required

Six months of supervisory experience preferred.
Experience in the pediatric, community health and/or psychiatric fields preferred

Experience growth and development through our continuous training, as well as tuition and licensure reimbursement, or pursue opportunities to advance both clinically and administratively with Youth Villages.

Covid-19 Vaccine Requirement

As of October 15, 2021, Youth Villages has required the COVID-19 vaccine for all employees, excluding those with an approved medical or religious exemption, as a condition of employment to help ensure the safety of all employees and youth and families served.
