As we continue to look for more sustainable ways to build, we need world-class talent to join our team. People who are passionate about sustainability, driven by curiosity and keen to grow, learn, develop and thrive in our high-performance culture.
Holcim announced in September 2020 the Net Zero Pledge, i.e. meet the 1.5°C target in alignment with SBTi. Carbon Capture is an important leg of this journey and has to materialize in order to meet our targets after 2030.
In the meantime, we have to further develop various Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage (CCUS) technologies with the objective of having 2030 economically viable solutions at industrial scale. CCUS plays an important role with more than 30 projects being worked on currently and still increasing. Holcim is not focusing on a single technology; the scope is quite broad, involving several people at local, regional and corporate level.
In order to develop and manage CCUS technologies and give best support to the countries in integrating new technologies in the cement manufacturing environment, technical activities need to be coordinated amongst various players.
Watching, scouting and evaluating innovative technologies in the field of CCUS, in particular technologies for the conversion of CO2 into valuable synthetic products (fuels, chemicals, polymers, etc.)
Being a point of reference for the group’s affiliated companies on CCUS technologies evaluation and selection throughout techno-economic analysis.
Initiating, planning, driving and coordinating CO2 capture technologies tests and CCUS projects at the corporate level together with regional teams.
Leading or supporting funding applications for CCUS projects (pilot tests, detailed studies, large scale projects) in Holcim’s cement facilities, in collaboration with a consortium of several partners.
Developing internal intellectual property related to the integration of CCUS technologies in the cement facilities, including specific tie-in options, advanced heat integration and downstream process integration for the manufacturing of valuable products.
Coaching and empowering project teams in the countries and regions in order to drive CCUS projects and/or studies.
Representing Holcim in partnerships at the corporate level in the field of CCUS
Sharing, spreading out knowledge and best practices throughout the group.
