ABOUT US

Nonviolent Peaceforce (NP) is a dynamic, international non-governmental organization. We work to reduce violence and protect civilians in countries affected by violent conflict and its aftermath through the implementation of unarmed civilian protection programming. NP implements programming through the deployment of civilian protection teams to the field and is continuing to scale up to meet the growing needs of the communities we serve. Programming is founded on unarmed civilian protection and is thematically focused on protection in displacement, child protection, gender-based violence protection, and inter-communal violence reduction.

JOB PURPOSE

The Caretaker is responsible for cleaning all NP buildings and rooms as well as preparing a daily meal for the staff.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

To provide support for the organization's activities by maintaining the organization's worksite

  • House keeping

    • Cleaning the kitchen, lounge, and the organization's office on a daily basis
    • Cleaning the organization's guest house and bedrooms (room tidying up, mopping the floor, cleaning the bathrooms) (at least three times a week)
    • Cleaning the bathroom and outside toilet
  • Cooking and Reception

    • Cooking for the organization's staff, as requested
    • Purchasing the necessary supplies for cooking
    • Prepare and bring refreshments for beneficiaries (meetings, trainings, etc.)
  • Safety

    • Ensure a healthy environment
  • Commitment to the rules of conduct of the organization

  • Adhere to the Organization's Standard Operating Procedures

  • Willingness to work evening shift as needed

QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES:

  • Independent judgment/analytical: ability to manage information with discretion
  • Ability to prioritize, solve problems and develop practical solutions
  • Personal Relationships: Flexible, energetic and adaptable
  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment
  • Proven ability to build relationships
  • Languages:
    • Arabic: Ability to write and speak
    • English: Not mandatory, an added advantage
