Position Summary
KVS is seeking a qualified & enthusiastic Female Caregiver. The Caregiver of Girls’ Hostel at KVS is responsible for the care, wellbeing, and upbringing of the girls living in the Kopila Valley Girls’ Hostel. Her role is to provide the basic parental, pastoral, and holistic care to provide support to the girls with the brightest future possible. Other responsibilities include managing and coordinating with staff members working in the Girls’s Hostel, and making sure that all related operations are running as smoothly as possible. The Caregiver should have patience and passion for working with children. This is an in-house/residential full-time position, and we provide learning opportunities and exciting personal & professional growth opportunities in the organization.

Must Haves
- Education: At least +2 in any discipline, training on psychosocial counseling, caregiver’s training will be advantages.
- Experience: At least 3 years of proven experience in the caregiving role.
- Language: A good communicator, and good in English.
- Other Qualifications: Single woman at least 25 years and not having a dependent.
- Skills and Abilities: Ability to manage support staff, passionate about and cares for children and vulnerable population, and able to work collaboratively and independently with the least supervision.

- Make sure that the children at Girls’s Hostel are cared for and supported in the best possible way.
- Manage home operations, children’s activities and supervise the support team members.
- Support in the process of children’s reintegration into the family/community, and their higher education.
Detailed Responsibilities
1. Make sure that the children at Girl’s Hostel are cared for and supported in the best possible way.
- Create and update routines for the activities of children in Kopila Valley Girl’s Hostel, and make sure that they are followed properly.
- Manage activities that are designed to promote physical, mental, and social development of the children.
- Being a primary caregiver you are responsible for development, health and safety for all the girls residing in the Girls’s Hostel.
- Make sure that you give extra focus to girls based on vulnerability. Also make sure that they are ready for school, and monitor their personal hygiene.
- Make sure the children take all the scheduled life skills development training through coordination with the supervisor.
- Support children in their education-ensure that they study for an appropriate amount, and manage interactive activities and support children to learn, grow and feel proud.
- Make sure that the health needs of the children are addressed promptly, using all available resources, such as first aid, the school clinic, and other local and national health services as required.
- Performing regular check-in with the girls in a one-to-one format in order to provide support and engage them.
- Oversee the kitchen management by ensuring that the food schedule/time is properly managed, seasonal menu change is prepared and communicated to the team members, and cleanliness, hygiene, and safety are maintained in and around the bedrooms, study-room and the kitchen.
- Managing the children’s clothing and hygiene and encouraging the older children to take responsibility for their own clothing and hygiene as much as possible.
- Managing positive interaction activities for growth and development of the girls.
- Being responsible for disciplining the kids in the Girls’s Hostel.
- Maintain children’s documentation including passport, citizenships, birth certificate and other relevant legal documents.
2. Manage home operations activities and supervise support team members.
- Supervise the work of support staff at the Girls’s Hostel daily and provide continued feedback for any improvements required to improve services.
- Coordinate with the admin team to make sure that all the required goods and supplies are procured as needed in a timely manner.
- Monitoring the home supplies and making sure they are always adequate and up to date.
- Demonstrate discipline from personal behavior, initiate it for the team to demonstrate, and encourage the team to the children to follow.
- Evaluate the performance of the support staff and support them in their professional development.
- Making sure the home is running smoothly.
- Manage individual files of girls at Girls’ Hostel with the help of Health and Wellness Manager.
3. Support in the process of admission, reintegration into the family/community and support children for their higher education.
- Make sure all the required documents are filed at the time of admission and also help other team members to prepare the documents.
- Support children to prepare for transition and reintegration in the family/community by organizing designed workshops for them.
- Be involved in the re-integration team and support the team with necessary documentation, home visits and follow-ups.
- Facilitate the process of reintegration in the communities.
- Do regular home visits whenever required.
- Make sure that you are in regular communication with guardians and families.
- Ensure that the children are prepared for higher education and support future studies of the children as needed.

- Build positive working relationships and environment in the organization by bringing solutions to the discussion table.
- Demonstrate professionalism in all interactions and execution of duties including ensuring confidentiality as per the organization’s protocols.
- Report to the manager on a weekly basis, and as needed in case of urgent activities.
- Build and maintain a strong relationship with the leadership team to ensure the continued success of our joint projects.
- Demonstrate strong work ethics, compassion, and professionalism and exhibit a high level of integrity towards the organization.
- Arrange and attend regular staff meetings both within and outside the program team.
- Communicating regularly, this includes responding to messages and emails promptly.
