We are seeking a Capital Raising Business Development Associate

to strengthen our Capital Raising and Business Development team. This role will report to the Head of Capital Raising and Business Development, and is based in Netherlands office, and interfaces with all of CFM's divisions and offices.

The role

The Capital Raising & Business Development Associate will support and assist the senior professionals in the team with regard to maintaining relationships with the existing investors of the current funds, in line with the defined capital raising strategy, and on future climate relevant fund propositions (such as green hydrogen, biodiversity/forestry, resource/energy efficiency and sustainable cities).

Central to the job purpose is to explain to investors “what we do, why we do it, how we do it, and why it makes sense to them”

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Draft and maintain priority tracking list of key capital raising prospects
  • Preparation and maintenance of fundraising materials, including pitch, offering and fund documents and presentations
  • Respond to quarterly and ad hoc investor due diligence requests (questionnaires, RFPs, RFIs, etc.)
  • Maintain periodic portfolio performance track record and benchmarking models
  • Produce quarterly investor asset management reports for active funds
  • Work both across teams/departments and independently to assemble financial and operational data
  • Production of written reports
  • Edit/draft report content; lay-out report
  • Respond to ad hoc requests from current and prospective investors (including commercial/institutional investors, development finance institutions (DFIs) and donors).
  • Maintain CRM system
  • Provide support regarding the participation in relevant workshops and conferences to promote and raise awareness about the concept of Climate Investor One and Climate Investor Two, blended finance and the financing of climate change adaptation and mitigation concepts

Qualifications & Experience

  • 2-4 years’ experience in engineering and/or finance, Private Equity, infrastructure, Investment Banking (Equity Capital Markets, M&A, project finance and/or placement agents/advisors).
  • Preferably in the energy or infrastructure sector.
  • Preferably in investor relations.
  • Postgraduate or equivalent qualification in Finance
  • Financial acumen – the capacity to demonstrate knowledge of and insight into financial principles and processes and identify inconsistencies in data
  • Basic Sales/Relationship management skills combined with a technical/financial ability to explain the mandate and concepts of CFM
  • Basic understanding of the products offered by CFM and their benefits
  • A passion for sustainable investing and emerging markets
  • An understanding of investors decision making processes, timelines, asset allocations and rationale
  • Competence in spreadsheet / data base applications (i.e. advanced Microsoft skills in Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and CRM data software
