Capabilities & Career Model Lead
The Capabilities & Career Model Lead owns the development and implementation of a universal career model for our Service Technicians across Xylem, overcoming deficiencies in missing career modules for our service staff today. An established career model will have a significant impact on the satisfaction and retention of our service staff.
Major responsibilities include understanding of regional and local career needs within the organization and developing the career framework against these. The development of different career modules and the alignment with the service organization and human resources is a key milestone.
Within the role external advisors should be leveraged to benchmark other industry career models and modules.
Responsibilities
Map current career paths throughout the service organization for different brands, regions and commercial teams
Drive understanding of different local and brand specific needs
Identify approaches that have worked in the past and gaps we have in current career models
Use external consulting to identify gaps and needs – benchmark vs. other service focused industries
Define modules to be integrated into the career model including, but not limited to following modules:
Develop career model modules in close alignment with HR function and regional leaders
Align training needs by career stage with training coordinator and global service team
Integrate service career model into existing HR platform (workday)
After establishment of career model implement a regional/ brand specific pilot
Track satisfaction with survey once career model is established
Work on ongoing improvements after implementation
