Gold Standard is seeking experienced professionals to join our Roster of Experts Panel for technical reviews of GS4GG projects. We need individuals who can uphold the highest standards of quality assurance in carbon emission reduction and sustainable development projects.

Role Overview:

As an Assurance Expert, you will conduct technical reviews of projects submitted for design and performance certification under the Gold Standard for Global Goals (GS4GG) framework. You will evaluate project documentation, methodologies, and monitoring reports to ensure compliance with GS4GG standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review project documentation, including Project Design Documents (PDDs), monitoring reports, and validation/verification reports

• Assess project compliance with GS4GG requirements, focusing on methodology application, emission reduction/removal calculations, sustainable development impacts, and safeguarding principles compliance

• Participate in bi-annual calibration meetings and training programs

Required Qualifications:

• Advanced university degree (Master's) in environmental science, engineering, or related discipline

• Minimum 6+ years of work experience in climate and development projects, with demonstrated knowledge of Gold Standard and GS4GG standards

• Technical expertise in GHG quantification methodologies and proven experience with baseline/monitoring methodologies across multiple project types

• Proven track record in implementing Gold Standard activities, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Excellent communication skills in English (both written and verbal) with demonstrated ability to work effectively in team settings

Time Commitment:

Reviews must be completed within 7 days of receiving project documentation. Experts are expected to dedicate 3-5 days for each project review and must also be available to attend bi-annual calibration meetings (either virtually or in person), participate in mandatory training sessions, and join follow-up meetings as needed throughout their engagement.

Remuneration:

A competitive standard review fee is offered for each project based on our fee schedule, which will be shared prior to contract signing. Fees undergo biennial review and may be adjusted according to market conditions. If travel is required, experts will be paid travel expenses and daily subsistence allowance in accordance with Gold Standard Travel policy.

The application process consists of the following steps:

• Initial Screening: All applications will be reviewed for completeness and basic eligibility requirements. Only candidates meeting the minimum qualifications will proceed to the next stage.
• Technical Assessment: Qualified candidates may be asked to complete a technical evaluation to demonstrate their knowledge of GS4GG standards and review capabilities.
• Interview: Shortlisted candidates will participate in an interview with the Gold Standard technical team to discuss their experience, expertise, and approach to project reviews.
• Final Selection: Successful candidates will receive an offer to join the Roster of Experts Panel and will be required to sign a service provider agreement.

The entire process typically takes 4-8 weeks from application to final selection. Selected experts will undergo an orientation program before beginning their first review.

Restrictions:

• Experts shall not be a direct employee of a Gold Standard-approved Validation and Verification Body (VVB).
