ABOUT THE ROLEThe overall goal of the Business Partnerships Associate, New Business, Europe, is to support the ongoing business development efforts of the European Business Partnerships team. The role includes sales and operations responsibilities to ultimately facilitate the process for leadership to achieve senior-level relationships and close new business. These efforts will help to identify and generate new business focused on renewable energy certificates (RECs), carbon credits, renewable energy advisory, and climate strategy advisory services.

In addition to team support, the Business Partnerships Associate, New Business, Europe will also contribute to organisation improvements, process improvements, ad-hoc analysis, and reporting on sales data. In order to achieve these goals, you will develop proficiency in Salesforce data management and gain a holistic mastery of our internal sales tools and processes.

This role reports to the Senior Director of Business Partnerships, EMEA and is open to candidates ideally based within a commutable distance of our UK offices in London Paddington, or Oslo Norway, where you can enjoy a flexible, hybrid-working pattern. WHAT YOU’LL DO

You will support European Business Managers in reaching their strategic goals. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Conduct research on market sectors to identify and prioritise areas of greatest opportunity
  • Perform extensive account research on potential client accounts and identify key contacts and decision-makers
  • Generate new qualified opportunities through direct outreach efforts, utilising direct email, phone, and other outreach tools
  • Qualify potential clients via email, phone, and video, leveraging knowledge of the 3Degrees qualification and sales process as well as knowledge of 3Degrees’ commercial product and service offerings
  • Transition qualified prospect conversations to Business Partnerships leaders
  • Continuously add, update and manage comprehensive and detailed account information within the salesforce.com platform
  • Complete special projects as needed

  • 1-2 years experience working in a business development environment
  • Experience working on bids or tenders
  • Proven analytical and research skills, with an instinctive focus for the detail
  • A natural collaborator with the ability to forge strong relationships
  • Experience with B2B sales models in regional and international markets
  • Well-organised and responsible with a natural aptitude for problem-solving
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Salesforce or similar CRM experience
  • Internal sales experience with multinationals preferred
  • Formal RFP and RFQ response experience a plus
  • A passion for what we do

HOW WE DEFINE SUCCESS

Within 30 days

  • You will have been introduced to the key tools and resources available to you and will be able to navigate, retrieve and edit internal documents
  • You will have developed an understanding of the sales process and been introduced to the various teams involved (Contracts & Legal, Environmental Markets and Energy and Climate Practice)
  • You will have received and completed training on an introduction to EAC products and markets
  • You will be starting to use the basic functions of Salesforce and in-house systems for data entry and client contact management

Within 90 days

  • You will be capable of using Salesforce to add lead account information, coordinate meetings and upload templates for deal opportunities

  • You will have received an introduction to Carbon Credits and ECP products, markets and processes

  • You will be creating certificates of Purchase / Redemption and delivery overviews

  • You will have increased your knowledge of 3Degrees business units and products by further interaction with MIT (Market Intelligence Team), Marketing and Project Development teams.

  • You will be competent in the key support tasks of the role, specifically: proposal coordination, client/vendor registration, welcome kits, and all related Salesforce tracking

Within 6 months

  • You will now be proficient in the key support tasks for the European Business Partnership team, using everyday sales tools and processes
  • You will be displaying a confident understanding and knowledge of 3Degrees business units and products
  • You will be able to provide tactical and strategic input to contribute to the continuous improvement of the sales process
  • You will be working with minimum supervision; proactively managing a variety 0f European commercial relationships and Business Partnerships projects

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

  • Compensation: The starting base pay for this position is $58,000 to $79,000 in the US. The employment agreement will be converted and stated in the currency applicable to the candidate's location. The total compensation package for the successful candidate in this role may exceed the base pay as it includes other incentive pay. The base pay is dependent upon many factors such as location, transferable or job-related skills, work experience, relevant training, business needs, and market demands. The base salary range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This is a Europe-based role and currency will be converted to the local currency based on USD equivalent. Conversion rates are reviewed biannually, at a minimum
  • Supplemental Pay: this position is eligible for discretionary bonus programs including the company’s profit sharing program and participation in the Commercial Sales Commission program
  • This compensation and benefits information is based on 3Degrees’ good faith estimate as of the date of publication and may be modified in the future
