Business Development Intern

WHO WE ARE

Kids in the Game is dedicated to developing New York City’s youth by providing opportunities through sports and fitness to the schools and communities we serve. Our goal is to develop the next generation of leaders by developing healthy habits, an active lifestyle, and promoting personal growth through play and competition. During the school year, KING is rooted in dozens of schools around New York City, offering recess, after-school, physical education, early drop off fitness, creative movement and sports instruction.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Business Development Interns work closely with our leadership team to develop strategic business cases and industry analysis to drive company growth and expansion projects. As a BD Intern, you will be helping to ensure school programming for kids across New York City. Most importantly, you’ll be contributing to a supportive, safe, and fun environment for kids to grow and learn while experiencing non-stop fun!

This would be a 30-hour per week, in-person commitment with the possibility of working remotely one day per week. The internship would start between September 5th and 12th and last for 12 weeks (3 months).

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

At Kids in the Game, we strive to be the best part of every kid’s day! As a Business Development  Intern, you may not be working directly with the kids in program, but you’ll be working to provide partnerships for programs that benefit our kids and families. You’ll be a part of our Kids in the Game community.

At the end of the day, you’ll be able to participate in company wide staff events where you can mingle with staff from all of our programs across the city, hang-out, and unwind! As a Business Development Intern, you can expect to:

  • Maintain target client lists, draft outreach campaigns , support the development team in pursuing leads and partnerships
  • Source new sales opportunities through inbound lead follow-ups and outbound cold calls and emails
  • Use CRM (Hubspot) and other sales tools, build prospect lists, and share results with the larger sales team
  • Initiate sales conversations with key decision makers at target schools
  • Attend initial school / partnership meetings

WHAT WE’RE GOING TO LOVE ABOUT YOU

Our ideal candidate would meet some or all of the following qualifications:

  • A current college student or recent college graduate looking to gain valuable sales experience in a rapidly growing startup environment
  • Self-motivated and can hit the ground running in prospecting, managing, and qualifying prospect
  • Loves to develop and foster relationships and enjoys interpersonal interactions
  • Communicates clearly and concisely with strong oral and written communication skills
  • Extremely organized with strong attention to detail, and has a proven ability to exceed performance goals
  • Intrinsically motivated and have the self-confidence and resolve to push through times of adversity
