Title: Business Development Director
Arrangement: Full-time contract
Start Date: July onwards
Location: Europe or North America, preferably London or New York
Reporting to: CEO
reach52 is seeking a Business Development Director that will support reach52’s mission to build access to healthcare for 52% of the world, who currently cannot access it. You will work to expand our network among innovative health commodity suppliers in Europe, North America and Asia, build our brand, communicate the reach52 value proposition, and source funding. You should have a strong understanding of the health commodity business and in particular the challenges associated with launching products in low- and middle-income countries. Existing relationships and networks among multinational pharmaceutical and/or diagnostic companies as well as product development partnerships and new innovators is critical.
What you’ll do
The core role scope and responsibilities of the role will be:
- Create business development strategy, including targets, engagement model, and timelines.
- Follow regular virtual and in-person visit cadence with key targets to build reputation and establish branding.
- Drive targets and KPIs, generating pipeline, partnerships and revenue.
- Support engagements for other senior leadership within reach52, ensuring the most effective utilisation of their visits.
- Identify the right conferences and events and lead engagements with partners.
- Develop and implement high profile events to showcase the reach52 business and lead follow ups with partners.
- Develop the right branding and communication materials to best position reach52 among partners.
- Translate feedback from partners to business operations and input into the core commercial and access strategies of reach52.
- Participate in and contribute to the overall strategy development of reach52 and ensure mastery of the nuance of our model.
Who you are (probably!)
We’re reasonably sure you should have a profile like this, but we can flex sometimes:
- 10+ years of healthcare pharma / access / commodity work within a large multinational company or in an access focused organization in business development or strategy capacity (or similar)
- Strong understanding of healthcare markets in low- and middle-income countries; ideally with strong existing network.
- Extensive experience in strategic planning, market analysis, and business development.
- Experience in a loosely-structured, start-up-like setting and demonstrated ability to think quickly and independently and be a self-starter.
- Strong communication skills and an ability to identify the right stakeholders and the appropriate messaging to best convey our value.
- High autonomy, entrepreneurial mindset. Ability to see the big picture and support achieving the details.
