Business Development Coordinator, Transportation Markets

ABOUT THE ROLE3Degrees is passionate about helping organizations around the world rise to the challenge of taking urgent action on climate change. The Business Development Coordinator pivot is an excellent opportunity to support the Transportation Markets team. The role includes sales and operations responsibilities to facilitate the process for Business Managers and Directors to develop senior-level relationships and close new business.

This is a full time role reportin__g to the Director, Transportation Markets. This position is open to remote candidates.

WHAT YOU’LL DOYou will be supporting the Director, Transportation Markets to reach the department’s business development goals. This position has three core functions:

Sales:

  • Support building out a sales pipeline and responding to sales opportunities
  • Research account prospects with a focus on transportation product goals, strategies, management structure, identification of decision-makers, etc. to support lead qualification
  • Develop prospect nurture and outreach efforts to generate leads in collaboration with the B2B Marketing team
  • Create and format sales slides for discovery presentations and deliverables
  • Create and format proposal documents, including service overviews, opportunity summaries, and scopes of work in collaboration with the Transportation Markets and Marketing teams
  • Coordinate RFP responses including project and team management, RFP writing, approvals, and submission
  • Schedule and coordinate prospect and client meetings
  • Facilitate meeting and event preparation in support of team objectives
  • Conduct market/industry research for quarterly and annual planning

Operations:

  • Drive operational efficiencies in business development processes, tools, and reporting systems
  • Own Transportation Markets Salesforce data management, analysis, and enhancement
  • Manage an RFP and proposal document library
  • Support managing, improving, organizing and updating sales enablement content, especially sales proposals and presentations, in collaboration with the B2B Marketing team
  • Lead ad hoc business analysis projects on sales and marketing data
  • Support process improvement and organizational management projects

Collaborate:

  • Play an active role in the operational excellence and growth of our emerging Transportation Markets business unit and our company
  • Proactively contribute to continuous improvement, provide input on 3Degrees products, marketing strategies, sales, and delivery improvements and team collaboration

ABOUT YOU

You are a confident and highly motivated person with a passion for organizing creative solutions to complex problems within a sales operations and business development environment. You pride yourself on your attention-to-detail and organizational skills, and you are confident in your ability to independently manage your workload and excel in an environment that demands a high level of performance and accountability. The ideal candidate has an intuitive ability to anticipate next steps and takes a proactive approach to improving operational efficiency for the business development team.

Required:

  • A passion for serving client needs; joy in other peoples’ success; empathy, superior listening, and emotional intelligence skills
  • Extremely well-organized and responsible with an aptitude for problem-solving
  • Experience with customer relationship management systems (i.e., Salesforce)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven analytical and research skills
  • Strong ability to develop strong cross-functional relationships
  • 2 years of related industry experience preferably in sales and/or operations
  • BA/BS degree in a relevant discipline, or equivalent combination of professional experience and education have the best opportunity to succeed in this role

**Preferred:**Experience in transportation and/or carbon markets and/or renewable energy

  • Formal RFP and RFQ response experience

HOW WE DEFINE SUCCESS

Within 30 days

  • You will build a firm understanding of 3Degrees’ origination structure/processes and key tools (Salesforce, Groove, Google Drive, etc.)

Within 60 days

  • You will demonstrate a firm understanding of 3Degrees’ Transportation Markets product offerings and market strategy, prospecting criteria/evaluation, messaging, and how those are used in the sales cycle

Within 90 days

  • You will be implementing Salesforce, proposal and RFP library data and file management projects

Within 6 months

  • You will be proficient in the key support tasks of the role using everyday sales tools: prospect identification, discovery/qualification, proposal coordination, and all related Salesforce tracking

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

  • Compensation: The starting base pay for this position is $50,000.00 to $70,000.oo in the US. The total compensation package for the successful candidate in this role may exceed the base pay as it includes other incentive pay. The base pay is dependent upon many factors such as location, transferable or job-related skills, work experience, relevant training, business needs, and market demands. The base salary range is subject to change and may be modified in the future

  • Supplemental Pay: This position is eligible for discretionary bonus programs including the company’s profit sharing program and an annual team Bonus Pool
