Accion’s Finance team manages all of Accion’s financial needs. Working closely with each of its subsidiaries, departments, auditors, clients and vendors, the finance team plays a critical role in ensuring a clean audit every year in accordance with accounting principles generally accepted in the USA. The Finance team includes 14 finance and accounting professionals with expertise in consolidated multicompany & multicurrency financial statements, treasury, payroll, accounts receivable and payable, financial donor reporting to corporations, foundations, multilateral & public donors, budgeting and planning, finance systems integration and automation.
Position Summary
The Budget Manager works closely with the department heads, project managers and management to develop annual and multi-year company and project budgets as well as maintaining key budget systems and tools for Accion’s budget process. The Budget Manager oversees the financial reporting for key grants and contracts and regular reporting to budget owners and departments across the organization. S/he works closely with Operations Department Heads, Project Managers, Resource Development, Human Resources, Controller, Finance staff and CFO to ensure overall operations are within budget, to provide reporting and to develop appropriate tools. Closely coordinates activities with 2-3 members of finance team.

Position Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree with emphasis on Finance, Public Finance, Public Administration, or related field. Advanced degree preferred.
Minimum of 6+ years of experience in Finance with extensive focus in budgeting and financial projection management, project management and grant and accounting reporting.
Strong multi-company budget planning and analysis.
Project management skills are desired.
Technical budget expertise and strong knowledge of Adaptive budget system and Deltek accounting system.
Advance level in Excel and other MS Office applications.
Ability to manage and coordinate with budget staff as well project leads and department managers
Experience working with nonprofit budgeting and accounting.
Sound problem solving ability.
Achieves goals with minimal ongoing supervision.
Ability to exercise good judgment in making planning decisions and maintaining confidentiality.
Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, with all levels of the organization. Spanish language skills a plus.
Ability to effectively manage the workload working independently including planning, organizing, prioritizing, and paying close attention to details.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a diverse workforce.
