ABOUT THE POSITION
VHB has an exciting opportunity for a Bridge Inspection Assistant/Team Member to join our Structures group’s growing bridge inspection practice. Bridge Inspection
In this position, you will serve an important role in the planning and execution of bridge inspections. The role would involve serving as an inspection Team Member to plan and perform bridge and culvert inspections with a senior Inspection Team Leader. Tasks would include the development of field notes, assembly of record documents, and upon completion of the inspection, generating inspection reports utilizing standard formats. The work would involve a mix of office and field work which utilizes aerial lifts and ladders. The ideal candidate should possess a “can-do” attitude, verbal and written communication skills, and an ability to work independently as well as with a team in a dynamic, fast-paced, and fun environment. The position includes significant opportunities for personal and professional development and growth within VHB’s emerging bridge inspection practice.
The opportunity includes the necessary training to safely perform fieldwork. VHB will train eligible candidates for all safety requirements and NHI qualifications.
The ideal candidate will be willing to work and enjoy being in the field up to 50% of the time. In addition, VHB’s structural practice has many opportunities to allow the candidate to become involved in bridge design tasks and load ratings as desired to help work towards further career development and attain a PE license.
