The Engineering and Project Solutions (EP&S) Manager, Oceania has overall responsibility and manages a team of EP&S engineers and specialists, who contributes to the fulfillment of Xylem’s objectives and profitability of the business. Integral to this is also managing the transition from bid to delivery with the project delivery team, ensuring that all requirements and deliverables are clearly communicated.

The EP&S Manager is responsible for the overall tender process, from submitting tenders and contract review to successful delivery, supporting the sales and operations of the business**.**
The incumbent requires Engineering, Water and broad industry expertise working collaboratively with the key stakeholders to deliver . He/she is expected to be an ambassador for Xylem with key industry or professional associations/bodies and acts as a key strategic leader contributing actively at Oceania leadership team level. The incumbent requires Engineering, Water and wastewater process and broad industry expertise working collaboratively across functions and key stakeholders to deliver customer satisfaction. He/she is expected to be an ambassador for Xylem with key industry or professional associations/bodies and acts as a key strategic leader working with sales, commercial operations and product marketing, application and engineering teams.
Success in this role will be measured through increased customer satisfaction, internal stakeholder satisfaction, bid win rates and margin delivery costing accuracy, standardized processes and strong people management to deliver on our promise to customers and drive growth.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
Strengthen Customer Experience
Bid Team
Collaborate and coordinate bids with the Sales team, including leading chairing the Go/No Go decision process and provide visibility of support where enquiries and bids status & progress are at for the business, financially and transitionally
Provides advice and support to customers and collaborates with Product Marketing, Application and Engineering for more complex enquiries on a range of Xylem products to service valid customer requirements
Manage and optimize resource allocation by collaborating with the wider team to source, review and submit bids on time, ensuring any customer communication is timely and professional.
Leverages on Procurement team for bids to take advantage of scale and purchasing power of the business to achieve cost savings
Develop and implement metrics, processes and best practices in improving service quality to customers with the bid team.
Serves as a key strategic leader of the Leadership Team optimizing resources to achieve targets and maximize growth opportunities in the business as ’One Xylem’.
Drives growth and competitive advantage opportunities by responding quickly to VOC (voice of the customer)
Establish and assigns EP&S objectives in agreement with the Managing Director to evaluate performance in their attainment; and take necessary steps to bring results in line with objectives.
Manages the EP&S team and co-ordinates the smooth execution of projects from design, specification and quoting to delivery on time and in line with projections and budgets.
Provides advice/support to customers on a range of Xylem products to service valid customer requirements.
Leverages team strength by coordinating processes across EP&S, utilising shared resources, redeploying underutilized resources, and taking advantage of scale and purchasing power of the business to achieve cost savings
Drives the need for improvements in processes within the EP&S team, and measures success of improvements through actionable and relevant metrics holding staff accountable
Encourages creativity, innovation and customer centric focus across the team
Ensures reports and paperwork are provided by the department to satisfy Xylem business, regulatory and customer requirements.
Provides input to the Xylem business, and attends Branch/Regional /Customer meetings as required.
Drives and complies with Xylem’s EH&S and Quality Assurance policies and procedures.
Ensures all pricing policies are followed.
Prepares budgets and coordinates with Controller
Ensure effective development and delivery of EP&S technical training programs and integration with operations, sales and service teams
Develop and implement both succession planning and talent development with HR and the Managing Director.
