What is FOLU?
The Food and Land Use Coalition (FOLU), co-led by the World Resources Institute seeks to accelerate a transformation of the world’s food and land use systems to better protect our natural environment; provide nutritious and affordable food; strengthen the resilience and enhance the prosperity of people; and meet the SDGs and the Paris Agreement. FOLU aims to provide the practical connections, the evidence bases for action and a vision for change to drive a food and land use system transformation. We do this by:
The Food and Land Use Coalition in India is a coalition of institutions working to support the Government of India’s efforts to bring about a more sustainable food and land use economy for the country. The aim of the Coalition is to convene and inspire key Indian stakeholders with a view to accelerating globally significant action which addresses the important development, climate, environment, biodiversity and health/nutrition challenges India faces in the coming decades.
The Food and Land Use Coalition in India supports policy research, engage directly with the Indian Government and other stakeholders to support the shift towards sustainable land use and food systems, and enables India’s rich experience and diverse perspectives to be shared with the international FOLU community.
The Food and Land Use Coalition in India comprises high-level policy engagement with national and sub-national decision-makers in the public and private sector. FOLU Coalition in India includes Council on Energy, Environment and Water (CEEW), Revitalizing Rainfed Agriculture Network (RRAN), The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) and WRI India, and with a detailed integrated country modelling effort, led by the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIM-A) with support from International Crop Research Institute for the Semi-arid and Tropics (ICRISAT).
Position Overview:
Food and Land Use Coalition India country platform is working with a food system approach to develop strategies to support the country to attain nutrition security with sustainable, regenerative and inclusive agriculture production, efficient supply system and developing responsible citizenry. As its activities are expanding both in thematic and geographic terms FOLU India is looking for a Programme Associate who can support secondary research, support the FOLU India lead and FOLU India coordinator in management of FOLU India platform etc. The candidate must have a post graduate degree in environmental science, natural resource management, development studies, or other related field with at least 3 years or more years of work experience, at least 3 of which is in a project coordination role.
Key responsibilities will include support the coordination of FOLU India activities, and reporting, developing research and analytical frameworks for programmes, facilitating engagement with partners and stakeholders at national and sub-national levels, research driven communication, and supporting overall programme development and strategy. The candidate is expected to bring strong organizational skills and be comfortable with interdisciplinary, inter-programmatic, and geographically dispersed teams. The position holder must be willing to travel within the country, including in remote areas with difficult terrain, when it’s safe to do so.
Responsibilities:
• Support the programme staff in organizing and conducting meetings/seminars/workshops/conferences and other events, whether online or in person.
• Prepare and monitor invoices and submit and reconcile expense reports.
• Develop and maintain a document archiving and filing system.
• Update and maintain office policies and procedures.
• Maintain contact lists of relevant stakeholders.
• Extend the documentation and data entry support to the FOLU Project Management Unit (FOLU PMU) whenever necessary.
**Qualifications and Requirements
**• Bachelor's or equivalent degree in a related field, preferably management background.
• Knowledge of office management systems and procedures.
• Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in MS Office – Office 365
Salary and Benefits: 8,00,000 to 9,00,000 CTC PA
Salary shall be commensurate with experience and skills. WRI offers a generous and comprehensive benefits package.
Duration: 1 year (Extendable based on performance and project requirements)
