This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Principal/Associate level Fire Safety Engineer to join our Dublin office, to play a key role in the delivery of fire safety engineering design services across a variety of sectors including data centres, healthcare, education, retail, commercial and tall buildings. This role will be to lead our existing Fire Safety Engineering team in Ireland, based out of our new office overlooking St Stephen’s Green in central Dublin. You will work closely with our UK and international teams and will assimilate to the innovative services we have developed so that you can use these to promote our services and wider Cundall capacity in the Irish market. We are resourced as a single team with workload shared across offices to provide work security, pool resource and support recruitment.
Working closely with colleagues of various disciplines within the Dublin office, you will design, analyse, report, and document Fire Engineering projects, as well as interface with clients. You will work across a variety of sectors and will have the opportunity over time to assume greater levels of responsibility and autonomy as we support the development of your professional skills.
In this role, you will take responsibility for the design of fire safety engineering solutions including:
The successful candidate will also assist with the preparation of fee proposal documents and fee calculations, monitor and manage resourcing requirements for projects, as well as review and verify designs produced by other team members, providing feedback as required and signing off designs.
Your role will be crucial to the successful delivery of innovative design solutions for some of the most exciting building projects in the Ireland, UK and internationally, and you will take ownership and responsibility for training and mentoring more junior members of the team.
Educated to degree level in a related discipline and either a Chartered engineer or already working towards chartership, you will have gained substantial relevant experience in Fire Safety Engineering design within a building services context and have proven your technical understanding in relevant design software.
Having gained practical experience in working to Irish Standards, BCAR, NFPA, IBC, IFC and Performance-based design approach, you understand the role of fire safety engineering for the built environment and have a passion for providing excellence in fire safety engineering design. You should ideally also have a good understanding of the Irish construction industry.
Given the collaborative and client focussed nature of this role, excellent communication skills, an understanding of financial and resource management, and experience of using your initiative to overcome challenges are essential.
