We are looking for a New York-based Associate Director to join our rapidly growing business in North America and to maximize our potential in the region. The Associate Director will be part of the North America Consulting leadership team.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Project Delivery (30-40%)
- Directly manage and get ‘hands on’ with projects as needed or when capacity permits/demands, and guide project managers to deliver strategic, effective and high-quality client engagements and deliverables
- Guide project teams to strategic, insightful findings and recommendations
- Resolve delivery challenges and serve as an escalation point
- Ensure quality delivery and drive continuous improvement of delivery
- Business Development (30-40%)
- Actively and independently source and close business opportunities, from lead generation to proposal development, presentation, negotiation, and contracting
- Collaborate on business opportunities with leaders across the business
- Promote our profile and deliver thought leadership through activities such as joining events, publishing white papers and articles, speaking during conferences, leading presentations, etc.
- Leadership & Management (10-25%)
- Promote a positive working environment and culture that uphold company values
- Manage and guide a team of associates, consultants and senior consultants through development, coaching, and performance management
- Set, communicate, and manage team goals and metrics
- Support management and leadership of the broader regional Consulting team in collaboration with other team leaders
- Grow the Consulting business in the North America region, and support growth of the broader business in the region and globally
- Support strategic goals in alignment with the annual North America Consulting Strategy
- Report regularly on progress against business metrics, including financial planning and forecasting
- Product Development (5-15%)
- Contribute to global ELEVATE and Advisory team efforts to develop service offerings, from high-level marketing materials to detailed standard operating procedures (SOPs) and delivery tools
- Use and ensure team usage of LRQA Sustainability platforms and in an accurate and timely manner (5-10%)
Experience & Requirements
- Required
- 10-15+ years of relevant experience
- Proven track record in consulting, client management, and team leadership
- Professional experience with and expertise in ESG & sustainability (ideally in responsible sourcing and supply chains)
- Demonstrated success meeting ambitious business targets
- Own relevant professional network with sales and talent potential
- Fluency in written and spoken English required
- Outstanding written and spoken communication and presentation skills
- Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills
- Capacity and willingness to work across different time zones and to hold meetings outside of regular local working hours
- Preferred
- Experience in a high-growth company
- Consulting experience specifically in ESG/sustainability
- Deeper expertise in a subset of ESG/sustainability – i.e., solid understanding of responsible sourcing or supply chains specifically
- Relevant advanced degree
