ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a full-time, exempt, US-based role reporting to the VP of Global Commercial Business. We value camaraderie and the benefits of in-person connection. We prefer candidates to join us in a voluntary flexible hybrid work style at one of our office hubs in San Francisco, CA; Portland, OR; Portland, ME; or New York, NY. This voluntary model provides flexibility while fostering team collaboration. Exceptional remote candidates within the US will also be considered. Periodic travel may be required for team collaboration, training, or company events. Fully remote employees must maintain a productive home office environment.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
As the commercial enablement lead, you will act as a force multiplier for the Head of Global Commercial Business, ensuring the team operates efficiently and effectively. Your responsibilities will fall into the following categories:
Strategic Planning & Execution:
Partner with the Head of the Commercial Team and regional leads to develop and execute strategic initiatives, translating high-level goals into actionable plans and tracking progress. This includes assisting in developing annual plans, setting goals, and tracking progress in close collaboration with central operations and finance to ensure alignment with the overall company operational strategy
Contribute to sales planning and forecasting, collaborating with regional leads, finance, and other relevant teams to develop accurate sales forecasts and budgets
Sales Operations & Performance:
Collaborate with both the Business Operations team and Central Operations to identify areas for improvement in sales processes. This includes partnering to implement solutions to streamline operations, enhance efficiency, and ensure alignment with company-wide standards and best practices
Partner with both the Business Operations team and Central Operations to develop and maintain regular sales performance reports and dashboards to evaluate the effectiveness of sales strategies and initiatives. This collaboration will ensure data consistency, alignment with company-wide reporting standards, and the effective tracking of key performance indicators (KPIs)
Sales Enablement & Support:
Develop and implement strategic sales enablement programs in collaboration with the Learning and Development team, focusing on product knowledge, sales techniques, and market trends
Partner with the Business Operations team to ensure effective territory alignment and quota setting that reflects market conditions and sales goals
Provide comprehensive support to the Commercial Team, including administrative tasks such as territory assignments, quota setting, and incentive compensation management. Act as a liaison between the Commercial Team and other departments, facilitating communication and collaboration
Communication, Coordination & Project Management:
Manage key projects and initiatives on behalf of the Head of Global Commercial Business, focusing on strategic sales initiatives, market expansion plans, and new product launches, coordinating with the Central Program Management team on projects with cross-functional dependencies to ensure seamless execution and avoid conflicting priorities
Serve as a liaison between the Commercial Team, the Business Operations team, and other departments to foster seamless collaboration and information sharing. This includes communicating with internal and external stakeholders on behalf of the Head of Global Commercial Business
Manage the Head of Global Commercial Business’s schedule, coordinate meetings (including running and managing various partner and client meetings with clear agendas, follow-ups, and next steps), prepare briefing materials for key meetings (including compiling and providing feedback on briefing materials for key customer and important company meetings; conducting primary research and working with key stakeholders to prepare the background for meetings with key executives, partners, and events), and ensure timely follow-up on action items
Coordinate with various teams to ensure smooth operations and seamless execution of sales strategies
Facilitate meetings and collaborations between teams, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment
Work closely with the Business Operations team to ensure alignment on key operational metrics and reporting
Research, Documentation & Market Knowledge:
Conduct research on industry trends, competitors, and market opportunities to inform strategic decision-making
Prepare and edit documents, such as reports, presentations, and correspondence
Develop a strong understanding of the environmental commodities market, including regulations, trends, and market dynamics
ABOUT YOU
You are a highly organized, proactive, and results-oriented individual with a strong business acumen and a passion for supporting high-performing teams. You possess exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, a strategic mindset, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. You are comfortable working with senior leadership and are adept at managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
7+ years of experience in program management, operations, strategy, or finance, demonstrating a strong working knowledge of commercial operations and sales processes.
Experience working with or supporting quota-carrying organizations
Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks across multiple projects
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and develop actionable insights
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels
Experience collaborating effectively with central operation teams on cross-functional initiatives
Proven project management abilities with a track record of successfully managing complex projects
Proficiency in CRM systems and other sales-related tools, strong preference for Salesforce experience
Knowledge of the environmental commodities market is a plus
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and sensitivity
Success in this role will be measured by your ability to effectively support the Head of Global Commercial Business and contribute to the overall success of the commercial organization. Here’s how we’ll track your progress:
Within the First 30 Days:
Develop a comprehensive understanding of the company’s business model, strategic priorities, and the environmental commodities market
Establish strong working relationships with key stakeholders across various departments, including sales, finance, marketing, central operations and legal
Become familiar with the Commercial Team’s structure, key processes, existing tools, and reporting mechanisms
Demonstrate a clear understanding of the Head of Commercial's key priorities and provide initial support with administrative tasks and meeting coordination
Within the First 90 Days:
Begin contributing meaningfully to ongoing projects and initiatives, demonstrating an understanding of the team's workflow and priorities
Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement within the Commercial Team's operations and propose initial solutions
Independently manage the Head of Commercial's schedule, including meeting coordination, preparation of briefing materials, and follow-up on action items
Demonstrate proficiency using the team's key tools and systems, including CRM and reporting platforms
Within the First 6 Months:
Independently manage key projects and initiatives, demonstrating effective project planning, execution, and reporting skills
Contribute to sales planning and forecasting processes, providing data-driven insights and recommendations
Proactively identify and implement process improvements that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the Commercial Team
Within 1 Year:
Demonstrate mastery of all core responsibilities outlined in the "What You'll Do" section, consistently contributing to the achievement of team and company goals
Serve as a trusted advisor to the Head of Global Commercial Business, providing strategic insights and recommendations on key business decisions
Proactively identify and address potential challenges within the Commercial Team's operations, developing and implementing effective solutions
Establish yourself as a key contributor to the broader organization, fostering strong cross-functional relationships and driving collaboration across departments. This includes maintaining a productive working relationship with Central Operations functions to ensure alignment on key operational initiatives
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
The following compensation and benefits information is based on 3Degrees’ good faith estimate as of the date of publication and may be modified in the future:
Compensation: The starting base salary for this position is $130,000 - 155,000 in the US. Base pay is dependent upon many factors such as location, transferable or job-related skills, work experience, relevant training, business needs, and market demands. The base salary range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.

Supplemental Pay: This position may be eligible to participate in discretionary bonus programs based on personal, department and company goals
