Application Engineer & Sales support – Hydropower

If you have a solid interest in technology, a commercial mindset, and a curious personality, we can offer you an exciting opportunity in an international environment where you will work closely with sales, product management and R&D to shape the future success for our water and wastewater pumping products.

As a Global Application Engineer and Sales Support your primary role will be to develop technical solutions, ensuring the proper performance and longevity for our hydro turbines and associated equipment. In addition, you will work on developing general design recommendations and include them in Xylem’s sales tools. You will also work with application-related questions and technical & commercial proposals. Therefore, you will work closely with sales and our commercial teams and customers at site to follow up on their projects.

Our application team consists of seven engineers with different expertise. The team has a responsibility of driving application engineering expertise, secure the technical competence within the organization and support our sales organization (commercial teams) globally to solve customers’ challenges.

Travelling to Xylem locations and to customers’ site is included.

Responsibilities

• Immerse in subjects related to the application engineering & related products
• Support the commercial teams’ efforts with product selection and system design
• Support Commercial teams with preparation of technical and commercial proposals (design, costing, quoting)
• Participate in troubleshooting cases
• Develop training materials in the application domain and train internally in application expertise
• Participate in the development of software tools for product selection, system design and engineering
• Recommend, drive or support product improvements & product development in collaboration with R&D and Product Management
• Participate in and support business development projects
• Follow trends and subjects within the application area
• Lead or assist in application development projects

Qualifications

• Degree in mechanical, chemical or environmental engineering or other relevant experiences
• Professional business-related experience is favorable
• Fluent in English both spoken and written
• Hydraulic expertise and knowledge about Hydro turbine products & market is a merit
• Experience with 3D CAD, Creo or similar platforms
