Overall Function
The Analyst, EDF+Biz Net Zero, will play an important role in contributing to activities related to advancing corporate action on net zero goals including the use of high-quality carbon credits and natural climate solutions. Through research and data analysis, the analyst will contribute to reports, tools and other thought leadership that will be shared with EDF+Business’ network of business professionals and through EDF’s new Net Zero Action Accelerator. The analyst will also support the development of key metrics for the Net Zero Action Accelerator and track and evaluate metrics over time. The analyst will report to the Manager, EDF+Biz Net Zero.
Key Responsibilities
Research, analyze, and synthesize information on a variety of topics related to corporate net zero goals, corporate sustainability, carbon credits, natural climate solutions, environmental and climate justice, climate technologies, and other relevant areas.
Research and track the evolving protocols, standards, and disclosure frameworks for corporate emissions accounting and carbon markets, in coordination with others at EDF.
Develop and help prepare internal and external communications, including reports, website content, presentations, online tools, and blog posts in alignment with the Net Zero Ambition and Action team’s goals.
Develop key metrics to evaluate the impact of the Net Zero Action Accelerator and build a system to track and evaluate the metrics regularly.
Coordinate activities among EDF staff, marketing and communication specialists, external consultants, corporate contacts, and others, including but not limited to facilitating correspondence, scheduling meetings, and communicating and coordinating on relevant work within the matrixed organization.
Advance EDF Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Justice (DEIJ) goals in which people from all backgrounds and experiences feel connected, included, and empowered to address the environmental challenges we face. This includes fostering equitable systems and empowering diverse constituencies both internally and externally.
Contribute to other Net Zero Ambition and Action projects as needed.
Qualifications
The minimum qualifications for the position are:
Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of related professional experience in data analysis, corporate sustainability, consulting, clean energy or related field. A master's degree in a relevant field may substitute up to 2 years of experience. An Associate’s degree will be considered with substantial relevant experience.
Demonstrated experience in environmental sustainability, greenhouse gas protocols and/or reporting frameworks. Experience engaging with stakeholders from the private sector preferred.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to produce data-driven insights and data visualizations using Excel or other applications/languages (e.g. R, Python, SAS).
Keen attention to detail to ensure consistency and quality outputs.
Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively with colleagues and partners of varied backgrounds and experience.
Solid project management skills including demonstrated ability to use independent judgement to plan, prioritize and organize a diversified workload.
Proficiency in the use of PCs, Microsoft Office suite. Familiarity with Salesforce.com (or equivalent CRM software) is preferred.
Demonstrates self-awareness, cultural competency and inclusivity, and ability to work with colleagues and stakeholders across diverse cultures and backgrounds.
Willingness to travel (10% of the time).
