The Role
We looking for a passionate, focused and dedicated team member to join our growing chemical risk business area to support the chemical industry understand and comply with global regulations. This is an important role, with fantastic development opportunities.
Ricardo have a very successful chemical regulatory and safety business area. This group provides a range of regulatory compliance services to companies across the world, primarily addressing the UK and European regulatory regime but with global touchpoints, including REACH, CLP / GHS. Services include SDS authoring and review, mixture notifications, software as well as technical toxicology consultancy with our world leading expertise in persistence chemicals and environmental fate. We also work closely with our Policy team and have secured work relating to emerging and current regulation and policy for the EU and the UK, including delivering the landmark impact assessment on the CSS for Cefic.
One of our fastest growing areas is that of Chemical Regulatory compliance related to REACH Registrations, Poison Centre Notifications (CLP Annex VIII) and SDS Authoring. Ricardo are experts in this field in the market for a number of years and have now authored 1000’s of SDS for a growing number of customers. We have work to deliver and an excellent pipeline of opportunities and are looking for the right person to join this area for which we have high ambitions. This is an exciting opportunity for the right individual to come and make an impact in an important area of our business.

Key accountabilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivery of chemical regulatory activity reporting to our Product Managers.
The role includes:
• Understanding the regulatory landscape and being an expert in this field (we offer training and support to upskill from graduate level)
• Organisation and customer management skills, allowing you to manage your own work and supporting our project manager in managing our clients
• Great communications skills – proactively engaging with colleagues delivering work in this area and in the wider practice.
• A great team player – collaborating on work, shared projects and deadlines
• Good workload management- able to understand priorities, flex your different work packages to meet deadlines prioritise work of high importance etc.
Key Competencies and experiences
• Background in analytical chemistry is advantageous or any STEM background
• Able to follow processes and input data efficiently with good attention to detail
• Able to work collaboratively as part of a team
• Strong problem solving skills
• Knowledge of using Microsoft Excel
• Knowledge and experience of CLP or REACH is advantageous
