AML Specialist
Position based in Budapest, Hungary

As an AML (Anti-money laundering) Specialist you will become a member of a team of legal professionals working for a pioneer in environmental commodities trading. Your role will focus on assisting the relevant sales and back-office teams in KYC and AML due diligence processes of clients to be onboarded at Vertis.
REQUIREMENTS
- Native Hungarian and fluent English. Another European language is an advantage
- Legal or economic degree, with at least 2-5 years experience in Customer Due Diligence (CDD), Know Your Customer (KYC), and Anti-Money-Laundering (AML) procedures
- Deep knowledge of AML regulation in the financial sector
- Experience with any non-Hungarian AML requirements is an advantage
- Experience with AML reporting is an advantage
- Proactive individual capable of practical problem-solving, adaptability, strategic forward-looking thinking, and exercising independent judgment
- Confident and impactful communication with people at all levels and backgrounds in English (verbally and in writing)
- Precision in legal and business communication in Hungarian and English
- Ability to assess legal risks in the context of client onboarding, and balance these with commercial needs
- We work in a fast-paced environment: your ability to multitask with changing priorities is key
- Self-starter and able to work independently and remotely, flexible, strong, and self-assured personality
- Comfortable operating within an international environment with a diversity of culture
- Knowledge or interest in environmental commodity products
- Proficiency in MS Office
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Understand AML obligations and KYC requirements of the Company
- Support AML department in preparing AML reports and perform sanction list filtering in our systems
- Follow regulatory changes, and adjust AML Policy and related internal procedures of the Company
- Conduct online AML identification process with client representatives
- Understanding foreign sanction regulations as well as screening clients’ special requirements in terms of ethics, human rights, anti-bribery and similar business behaviour standards.
- Cooperate with Back Office and Front Office, by being the 1st line of escalation of complex onboarding / client review cases
- Cooperate with the IT team, provide specifications for automatised AML tasks
- Liaise with authorities, manage ad hoc data requests as well as data collection in case of audits
