Youth Guidance is hiring an
Seeking TFI or Youth Guidance Program Alumni (APPLICANTS ONLY)
Position Summary**:** Alumni Academic Success Mentors are local college students who graduated from TFI or other Youth Guidance programs. They provide culturally responsive academic support through tutoring, mini-lessons, and 1:1 coaching. Tutors play a vital role in reinforcing academic success, strengthening Brotherhood through near-peer mentorship, and enhancing Saturday program delivery.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Provide Saturday tutoring and academic coaching.
Lead short Academic Success mini-lesson plans.
Track progress of assigned Fellows and provide updates to staff.
Offer remote tutoring sessions as requested by Fellows.
Support recruitment and alumni engagement efforts.
Assist with Saturday event logistics and summer programming.
Other duties as needed
Minimum Qualifications:
Education/Experience/Training
High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework preferred.
Must be a local college student in good academic standing.
TFI or Youth Guidance program alumni preferred.
Experience working with high school youth preferred.
Strong communication, organization, and peer leadership skills.
Skills/Abilities
Strong academic skills and ability to provide support in core subjects (English, Math, Science, Social Studies).
Ability to build positive, supportive relationships with current TFI Fellows.
Reliable, punctual, and committed to assigned tutoring and program support hours.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to model positive behaviors, responsibility, and professionalism for youth participants.
Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate with staff and other alumni coaches.
Flexibility and openness to feedback and ongoing learning.

Compensation
Hourly Rate: $16.60
Pay is determined by your educational background, licensure, and relevant professional experience.
