POSITION SUMMARY

The primary objective of this position is to serve as the liaison between Partner Agencies (PAs) and Feeding South Florida® (FSF) by assisting with the ongoing compliance, capacity-building, and training of PAs including the evaluation and general administration of the policies and guidelines of FSF; Feeding America; Florida Department of Agriculture; and Department of Health as they relate to the partner agencies.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure FSF guidelines and policies are met by PAs including
  1. Feeding South Florida Guidelines
  2. Feeding America Guidelines
  3. Inventory Control and Distribution Procedures
  4. United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Guidelines
  5. Ceres/Agency Express, Oasis Insight, and all software systems necessary for everyday operation
  • Coordinate site visits with PAs, including annual site visits and as-needed visits to PAs. This position will require activity away from FSF on a daily basis when conducting site visits. Site visits also include those organizations interested in becoming PAs.
  • Work with other department staff to provide corrections to agencies in violation of FSF regulations, including suspension and/or termination of partnership privileges.
  • Maintain, review, and update PA files, licenses, inspections, and permits.
  • Handle agency inquiries by telephone, emails, visits, and/or correspondence.
  • Assist interested parties in the application process for becoming a PA.
  • Provide referrals to individuals and agencies as needed.
  • Assist in providing agency training (including orientation, USDA, programs) to PAs as required.
  • Provide support to PAs by maintaining an active partnership with FSF.
  • Assist in readiness for any and all audits of FSF regarding agency files and accounts.
  • Assist in planning and executing any agency-related events including retention and distribution events.
  • Provide excellent customer service and seek to improve all PA relationships.
  • Maintain information for FSF Community Caring Centers (referrals including PA distribution information).
  • Identify PAs for program participation and distribution opportunities.
  • Assist with timely and accurate reports including spreadsheets, presentations, and narratives as needed.
  • Assist the Agency Relations Manager and Director of Network Services as needed.

Job requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma (Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred)
  • At least two years of nonprofit or government experience preferred
  • Sensitivity to diverse populations with the ability to serve people in a compassionate, patient, friendly, and courteous manner, showing sincere interest in people’s concerns.
  • Ability to take initiative and see projects through from start to finish.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with comfort and ability to speak publicly.
  • Ability to manage time efficiently and to work independently with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with other staff, volunteers, and agency personnel.
  • Experience and comfort with training and teaching others.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines and responsibilities, while simultaneously maintaining composure and ensuring excellent customer service.
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and deadlines.
  • Strong moral compass with the ability to exercise good judgment and discretion.
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong grammar, spelling, and math skills.
  • Positive attitude, flexibility, and a good sense of humor
  • Possession of a current and valid, Florida driver’s license, liability insurance, and a clean driving record with access to reliable transportation.
  • Bi-lingual (English/Spanish).

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Hours of Operation: Although organization hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., this position may work closer to 45-50 hours per week, especially during peak times such as holiday seasons, growing seasons, and disaster response. After-hours business work is required occasionally throughout the year.
  • Environment: This position works in a typical office setting. There may be extended periods of sitting, standing, and/or bending; listening, talking, and/or visual concentration; writing and/or computer use. Involves activities in both office and warehouse environments with exposure to the climate and South Florida weather.
  • Travel: Frequent travel between quad-county areas using personal vehicles is required. Occasional same-day, out-of-town travel for meetings, conferences, and special events using personal vehicle and/or public transportation is required. Occasional overnight, out-of-town travel for meetings and conferences using public transportation is required.
  • OSHA Standards: Lifting requirements are 50lbs and when lifting loads heavier than 50lbs, use two or more people to lift the load. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
