PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The Advocacy Manager is responsible for Develop and implement advocacy strategies, Build and maintain partnerships with key stakeholders. To Lead and manage the project managers and ensure the success of advocacy efforts and Collaboration with the Technical Advisors to ensure advocacy efforts align with organization’s overall strategy. Represent the organization at advocacy events, conferences, and meetings to promote the organization’s causes and build relationships with key stakeholders
KEY DUTIES
- Develop and implement advocacy strategies and plan that align with the organization’s goals and mission.
- Build and maintain partnerships with key stakeholders, including policymakers, government officials and other international NGO or UN Agencies
- Conduct policy research and analysis to inform advocacy efforts to Project Managers, Head of Programs and Country Director
- Write and submit policy briefs, position papers, and other advocacy materials that effectively communicate the organization’s position on key issues.
- Coordinate with Project Managers, Head of Programs and Country Director to manage advocacy campaigns, including online and offline activities.
- Represent the organization at advocacy events, conferences, and meetings to promote the organization’s causes and build relationships with key stakeholders.
- Monitor and evaluate the impact of advocacy efforts and adjust strategies accordingly.
- Lead and manage the project managers to ensure the success of advocacy efforts.
- Collaborate with Technical Advisors to ensure advocacy efforts align with organization’s overall strategy.
- Stay abreast of Timor-Leste trends, policies and developments and make recommendations for adjustments to advocacy strategies.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as political science, international relations, or public policy is required.
- A master's degree in a related field is preferred.
- At least 7-10 years of experience in advocacy, policy analysis, or a related field is required.
- Experience working in an International NGO or UN Agency is preferred.
- Experience building and maintaining partnerships with key stakeholders is required.
- Experience managing advocacy campaigns, policy analysis, and stakeholder engagement is required.
- Experience monitoring and evaluating the impact of advocacy efforts is required.
- Proficiency in MS Office and social media platforms is required.
- Experience with data analysis and visualization tools is preferred.
- Experience representing an organization at advocacy events and conferences is required.
