Accounts Receivable Specialist

Job Description

Dewberry is currently seeking an Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our Accounting & Finance team in Fairfax, Virginia. This position will condust all cash receipts each day, set up new clients and enter revisions to current client records, communicate effectively with department on issues that may arise and assist in resolving quickly and efficiently, and perform other duties as assigned by the Accounts Receivable Manager.

Responsibilities

General Responsibilities:

• Receive, review, and process cash receipts daily.
• Verify the accuracy of daily cash receipts and ensure that all cash receipt documentation is saved in appropriate Accounts Receivable Cash Receipt folders.

Specific Responsibilities:

• Extract Cash Receipt information from PNC Bank and save in appropriate Cash Receipt Folders daily
• Review and Enter Cash Receipts accurately into Accounting System daily
• Effectively report issues/questions to appropriate contacts in a polite manner related to Cash Receipts; PA, PMD
• Effectively Communicate any Cash Receipts being placed as Unassigned Cash Receipt to the Project Accountant with a CC to the Accounts Receivable Manager
  • Ensure POA Form is accurately filled out and attached with corresponding Cash Receipt Information
• Ensure accuracy of Cash Receipt Batches prior to posting
• Work with Senior Accounts Receivable Technician and Accounts Receivable Manager to correct any posted Cash Receipt batches if necessary
• Ensure that all physical checks received at the Corporate Office are immediately deposited to PNC Bank
• Assist in maintaining the ar@dewberry.com email Inbox
  • Address requests in this Inbox within a 24-hour time-period
• Address all other email requests within a 24-hour time-period either via phone or email response
• Enter/Review Client set ups in Accounting System
• Add additional or update information for Existing Clients in Accounting System
• Assist in any other duties assigned by Senior Accounts Receivable Technician and/or Accounts Receivable Manager.

Required Skills & Required Experience

• High School Diploma/GED required. A.A. in Accounting preferred.

• 1-2 years of accounting experience

• Attention to details a must!
