We are currently seeking an Accounts Apprentice to join our Finance team, to provide accounting support to ensure the smooth running of the business whilst working towards an AAT qualification. As an Accounts Apprentice, you will be responsible for maintaining the purchase ledger, processing employee expenses, initiating bank payments and supporting sales invoicing.

This opportunity would suit an individual who wishes to develop a career in finance. The role is designed to be an AAT Level 3 Apprenticeship, but we would also welcome applications from those looking to do a Level 2 Apprenticeship who have previous experience working in a finance team. This is a permanent career role with Ricardo, subject to successful completion of your probationary period.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure all purchase invoices are processed within agreed guidance.
• Ensure all employee expenses and credit/purchase cards are processed within agreed guidance.
• Resolve queries from employees and suppliers and proactively deal with account discrepancies.
• Create new projects and work orders in the Agresso finance system
• Initiate payments on banking systems.
• Preparation of sales invoices including compliance with VAT guidance.
• Ad-hoc support to other roles in finance during periods of leave.
• Any other ad-hoc duties as and when required.

Desirable

• Previous accounts experience or a couple of work/life experience would be advantageous.
• Experience of using accounting software, in particular Agresso/Unit 4 ERP and Microsoft Dynamics – but not essential.
• Knowledge of Outlook and Excel.
