The Near East Foundation (NEF) is seeking candidates for the position of Accounting Manager to be based in its Syracuse, NY headquarters. NEF is a non-profit international development organization that has supported livelihoods recovery and community-based economic development in the Middle East, Africa, and Caucasus since 1915. NEF draws on local teams, experience, and partnerships in these regions to create community-led solutions to reduce poverty, create economic opportunity, increase resilience, and empower conflict and crisis-affected groups to improve their future outlook and wellbeing. POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Accounting Manager will be a vital member of the Near East Foundation’s accounting department responsible for managing the global month-end close, ensuring accurate and timely project financial reports and consolidated financial statements. Under the supervision of the Associate Vice President of Finance, the Accounting Manager will provide support for the financial statement, single audit, and project audits, through coordination of auditor requests. The Accounting Manager will work closely with the Associate Vice President of Finance to develop, implement, and evaluate accounting policies and procedures globally.

Oversee the implementation of all accounting policies and procedures;
Evaluate current policies and procedures to ensure effectiveness and make recommendations for changes as needed.
