Job Summary
CPI is currently looking for an exceptional full-time Accounting Associate based in our San Francisco office to support our global offices implementing our programs across the world. Reporting to the Senior Accounting Associate, the Accounting Associate will support on all aspects of the accounts payable cycle. You will be part of a team ensuring compliance with GAAP and the integrity of financial information, systems, and reporting. Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Manage the full-cycle Accounts Payable processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of weekly check runs, maintaining vendor records for 1099 reporting, proper approvals and adherence to the organization policies and procedures.
Oversee employee reimbursement, ensuring proper receipt submission and adherence to the travel and expense policy.
Oversee employee advances, proper recording and coordinate timely repayment.
Manage the corporate credit card expense reports, ensuring timeliness and compliance as well as monthly statement reconciliation.
Own and maintain the internal vendor tracker to ensure contract and payment compliance, and recordkeeping.
Keep track of unpaid vendor invoices and coordinate with the Operations team to obtain invoices timely.
Work closely with the Operations team to collect new vendor information as needed.
Provide support to the management of CPI’s Vendor Payment and Expense integration system, resolving issues and seeking areas for improvement.
Manage payable related emails and inquiries daily.
Assist with the quarterly Value Added Tax filing.
Manage the preparation and issuance of 1099 form for applicable vendors.
Assist with adding new users to the ERP on a as needed basis.
Reconcile payable related general ledger accounts monthly.
Assist with annual audit and special grant audits.
Assist with the preparation of 990 filings.
Assist in maintaining and enhancing internal controls, policies, and procedures and the related documentation and record-keeping compliance.
Maintain and enforce fiscal policies and procedures, other internal guidelines, and record-keeping compliance.
Proactively identify issues and implement process improvements to streamline the accounts payable cycle.
Contribute to an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process.
Prepare ad-hoc reports, analysis and complete other projects as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience
3+ years of accounting experience
Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in accounting or finance preferred.
Experience working in a multi-site organization preferred.
Experience working with multi-currency is preferred.
Comfort in the use of MS Excel; experience with Sage Intacct or other ERP systems is a plus.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work autonomously, as well as take direction as needed.
A self-motivated team player.
Strong attention to detail to ensure a high degree of accuracy.
Strong and effective communication skills to communicate directly with vendors and all levels of management.
Strong organizational skills, solution oriented, and able to keep up a fast pace while adapting to frequent change.
Experience in non-profit financial accounting and fund accounting strongly preferred.

CPI is a hybrid working environment, with our teams spending part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role. Typically, we request that teams spend at least 40% of their time in the office with their colleagues. In addition, CPI’s offers a generous PTO allowance, 5 study leave days, and a professional development fund to support your development.
The salary range for this position is $75,000-$83,000.
