Role: Accounting Associate
Location: San Francisco preferred or Washington DC
Contract type: Full time role
Hybrid work schedule: CPI has adopted a flexible working policy whereby staff are able to mix working remotely with days in the office.
Salary Range: $65,000 -$75,000 per annum depending on experience.
About CPI
CPI is currently looking for an exceptional Accounting Associate to support our growing offices implementing our programs across the globe. The Accounting Associate will be responsible for day-to-day accounting tasks, accounts payable and related functions. You will be part of a finance team ensuring compliance with GAAP and the integrity of financial information, systems, and reporting by supporting a range of accounting operations. You will act as a point of contact between the accounting department and operations processing accounts payable, supporting accounts receivable, compiling general ledger entries, and initiating payments. The Accounting Associate works independently and with the operations and finance departments ensuring the integrity of CPI’s financial data and internal controls. Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Qualifications & Experience
Demonstrable experience in a bookkeeping or accounting support role with solid experience in the Accounts Payable cycle required. Accounting coursework preferred.
Highly organized with great attention to detail and accuracy and ability to analyze accounting transactions.
Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, time management, problem-solving, and math skills.
Good understanding of accounting principles.
Experience with data management and knowledge management.
Self-motivated, dependable, and self sufficient
Ability to work with all levels of staff across a multi-cultural, multi-geographic, multi-discipline organization.
Great oral and written communication skills, solution oriented, and be able to keep up a fast pace while adapting to frequent change.
Experience with non-profit organizations, Sage Intacct, or similar accounting software. Working with government grants desired.
