Ecuador’s New Partnerships in Open Government (NPOG) program is a two-year initiative funded by USAID and
implemented by Counterpart International in partnership with local and international organizations. The purpose of
this program is to advance transparency and accountability in governance by enhancing the capacity of civil society,
the Government of Ecuador (GoE), academia, and the private sector to implement the Open Government Partnership
(OGP) in Ecuador, including the adoption of open government management models, reforms, and citizen participation
and accountability mechanisms.
Counterpart is currently seeking an Accountant/Bookkeeper to help set up, and thereafter implement, the financial
accounting and bookkeeping of the NPOG program.
This individual will be responsible for ensuring accuracy in accounting and compliance with the local law and
Counterpart´s procedures. The position involves reconciliation, processing, and auditing of project financial
records, preparing monthly invoices, and preparing financial reports. The Accountant/Bookkeeper will report to
the Operations Manager in Ecuador. This position is based in Quito, Ecuador.
Prepare and review financial records, ensuring they are accurate, in compliance with national and
international law, and are presented on time to the Ecuadorian control entities.
Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field, a CPA (Certified Public Accountant) is required.
