The Role
The AAP Intern will work closely with the Accountability to Affected People team to support the team on a daily basis, with a focus on the internal processes necessary for the effective planning, coordination, and compliance of activities.
This internship is an excellent opportunity for an energetic candidate to get experience of the wide range of tasks that make up the backbone of international development and humanitarian work.
Responsibilities
- Attend Accountability to Affected People, Community Engagement and Localization Working Group monthly partners coordination meeting and compile minutes
- Support in writing up Case studies related to ongoing partner activities on AAP, community engagement, and localization
- Map AAP activities, information, and engagements through partner activities shared on the Whatsapp platform and distribution email
- Conduct mapping exercises with the AAP, Community Engagement and Localization Working Group partners
- Follow-up with the partners on planed AAP and community engagement trainings for the sectors
- Compile training resources for AAP, community engagement and other cross-cutting issues training for the sectors and share with the trained partners
- Support the Program Manager and Capacity Building Officer in the development of AAP training resources
- Support in compiling summary a monthly report for all ongoing AAP activities
- Assist the Nigeria AAP Programs team to ensure that project documentation is properly tracked and saved on the google drive
- Support the planning and delivery of AAP programmatic activities including logistical support for travel, accommodation, visas etc during international programs activities

Qualifications

Essential skills and competences
- University Degree (preferably in Project Management, Humanities, Social Sciences, International Development, or related field), graduated within the last two years (or still studying)
- Excellent organizational skills
- Keen interest in information management, improving efficiency through processes
- Thoroughness and attention to detail
- Willingness to get to grips with new technologies
- Able to manage multiple tasks and a busy workload
- Capacity to work independently to achieve agreed targets
- A good level of confidence in understanding budgets and working with spreadsheets
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong written and spoken English
Desirable skills and competences
- Previous experience in project support in non-profit organizations, particularly in development and/or humanitarian action
- Previous experience working with non-profit organizations is an advantage;
- Familiarity with cloud-based filing, Slack, Hubspot or Asana
- Previous financial management or project management experience

The successful candidate will need to have access to a stable internet connection and a computer to be able to carry out the role.
