We’ve built an app that works offline, operating in rural areas to equip community health workers and independent people to form a network of field agents. They collect data on health needs, which is used to design and implement targeted awareness and screening campaigns, and enable supply of affordable products to rural pharmacies and stores, and we are now looking for someone to own the implementation of our African distribution access strategy.

reach52 is seeking an Access Manager that would support reach52’s mission to build access to healthcare for 52% of the world, who currently cannot access it. You will work to build our distribution network through sub-Saharan Africa and have an opportunity to drive and develop our operational business model. You should have a strong background in the pharmaceutical sector in Africa and direct distribution managerial experience in at least three of the larger markets in the region, including Cote D’Ivoire, Senegal, Ghana, Nigeria, etc. Knowledge of local partners and understanding of regulatory systems and bottlenecks will be a plus. As the business grows, you will be central to accelerating progress in driving access. Innovative thinking and willingness to try new approaches is ideal.
What you’ll do
The core role scope and responsibilities of the role will be:
Implement the West African distribution commercialization strategy
Support the development of market entry strategies including country prioritization and engagement and partnership model development.
Identify, evaluate, and build relationships with potential partners in prioritized West African countries.
Support the development of model distribution agreements and the contracting process.
Monitor and guide the commercial operations of local distribution partners, including ensuring they have access to reach52 technology and intelligence and that price and availability commitments are met.
Support distributors with the development of commercialization strategies to maximize reach and revenue.
Provide market intelligence to manufacturing teams on product prioritization strategies.
Develop forecasts and order targets for relevant markets.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure commercial targets are met
Proactively and swiftly identify bottlenecks and challenges and develop strategies to improve speed and efficiency of new product entry.
Support regional and global leadership when government engagement is required.
Prepare and present commercial reports and forecasts to the management team, and own results achieved
Provide insights to the design and development reach52’s supporting tech platform; helping ensure it supports user and wider stakeholder needs, modern standards and expectations
Evaluate existing processes and partnerships, then lead and own improvement projects (e.g. evaluation of warehouse locations, vendor comparison, etc.)
